Are you ready for Judgement Day?

16/11/23 - 02/12/23

Inspired by Bouts’ apocalyptic paintings, the students of Don Bosco Groeneveld create their own sinister exhibition. They set to work with all kinds of materials, contemplating what their Last Judgement might look like and the role of hope therein.

Fifth-year Décor, Display, and Publicity students create an apocalyptic exhibition inspired by Bouts’ darkest works. They ponder what Judgement Day might be like for them and research the role of hope in troubled times.

As young artists, they also play with diverse materials, such as papier mâché, spray paint, charcoal, and digital techniques, and learn how to set up an exhibition.

The Fall of the Damned

Dieric Bouts painted The Fall of the Damned around1470. This apocalyptic and outlandish work remains a powerful inspiration to artists today. And it inspired Don Bosco Groenveld’s students to wonder what their own afterlife might look like and turn their imaginings into something tangible.

Villa aan de Aa

Mijnleuven – on of Leuven’s youth organisations – recently set up camp in Villa aan de Aa. The location provides young artists with a space to work and enriches their journey through all kinds of workshops. For several weeks, the villa will be transformed into the scene of perdition. But maybe, just maybe, there’s still a flicker of hope on the horizon. Enter to find out for yourself.
