Dieric Bouts explored the possibilities of realism, seeking a representation of the real world that should enable the viewer to empathise with the message his image was meant to convey. Even so, the characters of Bouts, this painter of silence, cloak their own emotions, making it impossible for the viewer to discern their most inner feelings. In the outdoor performance BLIK, Het nieuwstedelijk explores the emotions of the other by - quite literally - making you experience someone else's perspective, thus questioning your own frame of reference.

The performance starts with a pleasant walk through Leuven city centre. Spectators are divided into four groups of eight. You will be assigned the group that suits you best. One group will have an English-language experience.
