Dieric Bouts, back in Leuven
After over five centuries, the Flemish Master Dieric Bouts is back in Leuven for the ‘New Horizons’-themed city festival. Bouts takes centre stage because we’re still eager to explore new horizons today, just like he did in the 15th century. He’s got the city festival’s producers fired up today, and he’s sure to inspire you. Expand your horizons in Leuven four months long.

From the 20th of October until the 14th of January M will present an extensive retrospective exhibition on Dieric Bouts. Never before have so many works by the Flemish Master been brought together in his hometown. Moreover, you get a totally new perspective on work that was made more than five centuries ago — through a radical confrontation with today's visual culture.

What if Dieric Bouts were alive today? Well, he’d probably impressively master perspective drawing and create brand-new 3D worlds, just like Leon Keer. Keer’s work invites spectators to use their smartphones to engage: his app links his work to augmented reality.
